American bluegrass guitarist, bass player, singer. A Louisiana bluegrass music pioneer. Born in Many, Louisiana on April 19, 1935. Died July 21, 2021, in Many, Louisiana. Played with The Country Cut-Ups, formed The Southern Bluegrass Boys and started a group with his own children, The New Crop of Grass. Played with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys at Bean Blossom (June 1971)
