Pólýfónkórinn

Pólýfónkórinn. 1957 - 1988. Iceland´ The Polyphonic Choir was a mixed choir that worked in Reykjavík from 1957 to 1988. Its founder and conductor has always been Ingólfur Guðbrandsson. The choir held about 400 concerts during its career and went on nine singing tours abroad. Many of the choir's concerts were recorded by Ríkisútvarpið and the choir appeared several times on TV. The polyphonic choir was in the first years composed of between 40 and 50 choirs, but in recent years often over 100 people. Most of the participants at the choir's Christmas concert in 1978 were 150.
