American tenor singer, born 15 March 1869, died 30 March 1948. Pioneer recording artist in the early years of the twentieth century featured on thousands of recordings, especially as a member of The [a=Haydn Quartet] and The [a=American Quartet], two of the most popular vocal groups of the period.
