Chris Minh Doky

Danish jazz bassist based in New York. Doky was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. After an early training in classical piano, Doky focused on acoustic upright bass play as lead instrument - a distinct Danish tradition. At 18 he moved to New York and soon became a sought-after name in the Jazz club scene of Manhattan. Doky played with Jazz icons such as Michael Brecker, Mike Stern, David Sanborn or Ryuichi Sakamoto, just to name a few. In 1994 he joined his older brother, pianist [a=Niels Lan Doky], to form the [a=Doky Brothers]. Chris Doky has released several solo albums and appears on numerous collaborative albums.
