Þokkabót

Icelandic folk song band that performed music in the spirit of left-wing social satire and nationalism in the second half of the seventies of the 20th century. The band's first album, Upphafið, was released in 1974 and was a huge success. , such as "Nýríki Nonni". The later albums did not sell as well as the band did in 1976, despite a brief restoration attempt in 1978. In 1981, another version of the first album, Upphafið, was released, which was called Þjófstart. This album contains the same songs as Upphafið but also the song "Sveinbjörn Egilsson".
