Charlie Irvis

American jazz trombonist, born May 6, 1899, New York City, New York, died c. 1939 in the same city. Irvis played with [a=Duke Ellington] (1924-1926), [a=Charlie Johnson] (1927-1928), [a=Jelly Roll Morton] (1929-1930) and [a=Bubber Miley] 1931. He recorded with [a=Clarence Williams] backing vaudeville blues singers 1923-1927 and also with [a=Fats Waller] and [a=Thomas Morris] in 1927.
