Jeff Beecher

Classical contrabass player and composer. Currently principal bass player with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Beecher has performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. He is an active chamber musician, and a regular member of Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble, with whom he tours frequently, performing in the major venues of North America as well as in Azerbaijan, Israel, Malaysia, Japan, and India. Beecher has participated as a mentor along with other members of the Silk Road Ensemble in the Weill Institute Professional Training Workshops at Carnegie Hall.
