Super Deluxe

Super Deluxe started in 1995 in Seattle, following in the footsteps of The Posies and The Goo Goo Dolls, soon becoming a fixture in the northwest music scene. The band consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Braden Blake, backup vocalist and lead guitarist John Kirsch, bassist Jake Nesheim and drummer Chris Lockwood. After releasing their debut album Famous on Tim/Kerr Records, Warner’s Revolution label signed the band, re-releasing Famous to a much wider audience. The first single, "She Came On," was named 'power pop record of the year' by Melody Maker, and was featured in the movie Kingpin. After the tour to support their second album, Via Satellite, the band went on hiatus and Lockwood departed. The band briefly reformed in 2000 with drummer Darius Minwalla, releasing a second Christmas EP. The band reconvened for a third album in 2004, with Lockwood returning and bassist Nesheim replaced by David Roberts. Guitarist Kirsch left in 2005, and Super Deluxe continued on with guitarist Ira Merrill until again going inactive.
