J.R. Monterose

American jazz tenorsaxophonist (b. January 19, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan - d. September 16, 1993 in Utica, New York). J.R. Monterose (not to be confused with tenorsaxophonist [a=Jack Montrose]), worked with Buddy Rich (1952), Claude Thornhill, Teddy Charles, Jon Eardley, Charles Mingus (1956 on "Pithecanthropus Erectus") and Kenny Dorham, among others.
