Annia Linares

Venezuelan-born singer and actress born in Maracaibo , Venezuela , on December 5, 1950 . In 1963 his parents settled in Cuba. In 1970 she made her professional debut as a singer, actress and cheerleader on radio and television . He made presentations at national events promoted by cultural institutions where he has shared the scene with Cuban artists such as Rosita Fornés and Esther Borja , Mexican composer Vicente Garrido and Venezuelan singer Gisela Guedes. She took part in national and international festivals, as well as artistic tours made by Peru , Panama , Nicaragua , Venezuela , Mexico , Germany , Czechoslovakia , Yugoslavia , Bulgaria , the former Soviet Union and Spain . As an actress, she worked in television serials ( In silence she had to be ), plays ( El deseo bajo los elmos ) and for Cuban cinema ( La casa colonial ). As a singer with a defined contralto timbre, she prints a great drama to her performances, reinforced by her status as an actress. His style has managed to characterize a repertoire in which the romantic song is fundamental, but where other genres and generic species such as son , chachachá and merengue are also noticed; and different authors: Alberto Vera , César Portillo de la Luz , Luis Marquetti , Candito Ruiz , Margarita Lecuona , Silvio Rodríguez , Pablo Milanés , Álvaro Carrillo and Vicente Garrido , among others. She currently resides in the United States .
