The Night Writers

Collaboration between Chicago house songwriters and producers [a=Riley Evans] (aka [a=Henry Watson]) and [a=Jere McAllister] (aka [a=Alan Walker]). While false names were used on the original 1987 release, they were correctly credited on subsequent reissues e.g. [r161367]. Evans released two records as [a=The Knight Writers] in 1989 and 1990, before his death in 1991, while McAllister used the alias [a=Nitewriterz] in 1997. [l=Trax Records] released a new version of Let The Music (Use You) by McAllister and vocalist [a=Reggie Hall] on the B-side to [r=393262] in 2004. Let The Music (Use You) and its follow up, Over You, were famously produced and mixed by [a=Frankie Knuckles], hence why The Night Writers is often referred to as a Knuckles alias. [a=Ricky Dillard], the vocalist on the original version of Let The Music (Use You), released an album of the same name in 1989 ([m=7214]), with more tracks written by Evans and McAllister.
