Social Change

[a2893535] is Australia’s Hip Hop supreme team, featuring the emcee who goes by the same name, renown music producer Funkwig, and champion turntablist DJ Snair. Social Change has been a fixture in the Adelaide Hip Hop scene for over a decade. Social Change has won freestyle competitions, performed on radio countless times and conducted self expression workshops locally and interstate. Social Change has featured on numerous artists projects such as F&D "Worship The Grit" (2005), Dialect "Rugged Uncut" (2008) and "Dialect & Despair" The Vortex (2010) and the group has also released the E.P. "V.High.E.P" (2007), single "Real" (2008) and mixtape "Fat Pockets Phat Tape" (2010). Social Change has toured most of Australia off the back of these releases and has played with interstate and international artists such as Mystic JourneyMen, Grandmaster Flash, Jurassic 5, Kool Keith, DOOM, Def Wish Cast, Immortal Technique, Hilltop Hoods, Delta and The Optimen to name just a few. Not just a live performer Social Change is also responsible for starting the Butterthief recording label. As a show promoter Social Change has promoted and hosted near 20 shows locally and interstate including the popular “Jam” series. As label manager Social Change has personally seen to the releases of many butterthief projects including the debut CDs by Dialect, Taylor Made Tactix and Matchless Gift, and as a graphic designer Social Change has designed many packages including Dialect & Despair "The Vortex", Tomorrow and Everyday "Occupy all Beats" and Delta "Alien". In 2012 Social Change re-appeared on tracks "Middle West" from the "Inquire Within" CD by Matchless gift and "Dreams" from the album "Monster" by Chris Bass. More recently Social Change featured on "Qualify" from "The Truth EP" by Joe Duigan. With these recent releases serving as an appetizer, 2013 marks the year that the now completed full length Social Change album is finally ready for release.
