Ray Bloch

Conductor/bandleader born 3 August 1902 in Alsace-Lorraine, France. Conducted for Ed Sullivan, Steve Allen and other TV/radio personalities in the 1950's and 60's. Probably most well-known for his work on The Ed Sullivan Show. Ray charted once with his orchestra on the U.S. charts with "Kate (Have I Come Too Early Too Late)" in 1947, landing at #11. He also charted as a songwriter once with "In My Little Red Book" by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians, which hit #14 in 1938 (he co-wrote with Nat Simon & Al Stillman).
