Manik Varma

Hindustani classical vocalist, born 16 May 1926 in Pune, Maharashtra, India, died 10 November 1996. She recorded her very first disc when she was hardly 12. Arts graduate from Bombay University. She received the prestigious Padma Shri award from the Government of India in 1974.
