Metropolis (34)

Venezuelan pop rock band formed in Caracas Members: Efraín González Raúl Morillo Efraín Rodríguez Metropolis was a band formed in Caracas in 1980 by Efraín González, Raúl Morillo, Efraín Rodríguez and Marcus. Their sound focuses on the combination of pop-rock elements and ballads, noting the influence of Venezuelan artists such as Frank Quintero and Guillermo Carrasco. The band's style allowed them to capture the attention of the public and quickly recorded their debut album El Grupo (1981), obtaining great commercial impact with the theme Tu Creiste. This album allowed them to make known their music through presentations in Caracas and in different cities across the country. After the departure of Marcus, the group was reduced to a trio and releases the album Tutti-Frutti (1984) and Hoy es el Dia (1986). In spite of the success obtained with these recordings, especially with the song Colegiala, the band did not maintain continuity either recording new material or live presentations.
