Drain (3)

Drain were an all-female group formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1993. The group also gained acclaim on the American market, where they were renamed Drain S.T.H. (spelled Drain STH on the second album), due to a pre-existing band from Austin, Texas also called [a34990]. S.T.H. is an abbreviation for Stockholm. The band were signed to [l12619] in March 1994, and licensed to [l33167] in December 1996 for North America. They released two albums in the nineties; "Horror Wrestling" (1996) and "Freaks Of Nature" (1999). People noted their heavily [a=Alice In Chains]-inspired sound, and the pioneering nature of four women successful at making heavy music. The band toured extensively, including with [a67153], [a11610] and [a11612], and performed at Ozzfest in 1997 and 1999. [a573524] got engaged to [a253791] in 1999, moved to England and withdrew from the music industry. Despite positive media attention in North America, the band got stuck in contractual limitations to the label and imploded about a year after the release of the second album.
