Akeem Lawal

Akeem Lawal, better known as AK Tha Razorman, was born January 16th, 1979 in Gainesville, Florida. He is an American rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Being the product of a Nigerian dad and African American mom gave him a unique and broad outlook on life. He moved to Fulton County, Georgia when he was 4 years old and showed an early interest in music. In elementary school Akeem met his good friend and fellow rapper Mac Boney and they formed a rap group. Later in high school Akeem met T.I., aka “The King of The South,” and his rap skills impressed TIP to the point that when TI was able to start his own record label he immediately signed him along with his childhood friend “The One and Only Mac Boney” In 2001 AK was featured on T.I.'s debut album I’m Serious on the bass driven track titled "Heavy Chevys” Tha Razorman joined his friends in the creation of the southern hip hop group P$C, which stands for Pimp Squad Click, alongside the CEO of Grand Hustle Records T.I., Big Kuntry King, Mac Boney, and C-Rod. They released the first trap mixtapes on the independent label P$C entertainment entitled In Da Streets parts 1, 2 & 3. In 2004 AK and MacBoney released a collaboration mixtape titled Glocks-n-Plans featuring Paul Wall and David Banner. This project was released on T.I.'s Grand Hustle. Later that year AK was featured on a song titled ”LimeLight" from T.I.'s triple platinum Urban Legend album. The following year in September of 2005, Pimp $quad Click released their debut studio album, 25 To Life. The album peaked at No. 10 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The lead single "I'm a King" was also included on the soundtrack to the film Hustle & Flow. Outside of Atlantic Records AK has continued to release projects and has a catalog of solo mixtapes. His first solo release was Xpand & Conquer featuring Young Dro and Big Kuntry King. He followed up his debut with the critically acclaimed Royal Heir mixtape and later resurfaced with the My Face Card mixtape featuring Killer Mike. After taking a break from music for several years AK Tha Razorman resurfaced in 2020 and signed with Sir Classic and Dictator Records to help shape and further his music career. He is currently releasing new visuals to his Bounce Back season movement as he gears up for a new project. The new single “Sayless” featuring Windsor Jones was produced by Spyder Beatz.
