Rhiannon Giddens

Rhiannon Giddens (born 21 February 1977) is a singer, song-writer, multi-instrumentalist, music historian, writer, actor and activist. Raised in in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, she was a founding member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. She has released five albums under her own name, including two with her partner, [a=Francesco Turrisi]. Rhiannon Giddens has won two Grammys (from ten nominations) and a Pulitzer Prize. She is an honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of North Carolina. (Her sister is [a=Lalenja Harrington].)
