American film actor, singer & songwriter in the 1950s. Born December 15, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Died June 17, 1961 in Culver City, Los Angeles, California, USA. As a songwriter, he is best known for writing lyrics to "Six Bridges To Cross" (Henry Mancini music), which Sammy Davis Jr. sang in 1955 movie of the same name. Chandler also wrote the lyrics for "Foxfire" (Henry Mancini music), which Chandler sang as the leading man in the 1955 movie of the same name, and was again performed in "Istanbul" (1957).
