Tony Newman

British rock drummer, Richard Anthony “Tony” Newman was born in 1943 in Southampton, Hampshire England. He has played with David Bowie, Donovan, Mick Ronson, and often opened for The Beatles, including their performance at Shea Stadium. He worked regularly as a veteran studio drummer. He eventually relocated to Nashville, where he became involved with Crystal Gayle, the Everly Brothers, and country music. He currently resides in Las Vegas, where he still performs.
