Traci Lamar

Musician and vocalist, born Traci Olon Hancock in Lubbock, Texas in 1960 to country musicians [a=Tommy Hancock] and [a=Charlene Hancock]. Traci began her musical career by playing guitar and joined family band [a=The Supernatural Family Band] in 1970. The family moved from Lubbock to Questa, New Mexico and Denver, Colorado, settling in Austin, Texas in 1980. Traci adopted Lamar as a stage name. She began playing synthesizer in Denver and accordion in Austin. In 1988, Traci formed the band [a=Texana Dames] with her mother Charlene and sister [a=Conni Hancock]. Traci died in May 2012 at age 52 in Austin.
