Tom Wilson (2)

American record producer. Best known for his work in the 1960s with [a=Teri Thornton], [a=Bob Dylan], [a=Frank Zappa], [a=Simon & Garfunkel] and [a=The Velvet Underground]. Wilson started the Harvard New Jazz Society in 1953 and founded [l=Transition] Records in 1955 on which he released his own jazz album in the same year. He was also a jazz lecturer during this time and supervised many jazz concerts and seminars. In December 1958, he joined the A & R staff at [l4898] to produce jazz LP's. Later, he A&R'd at [l=Audio Fidelity] where he started their subsidiary [l=Dauntless], and in 1967 he started [l=Rasputin Production] who produced releases for [l=ABC Records].
