Jesse McReynolds
American bluegrass mandolin player, singer and songwriter. Born July 9, 1929 in Couburn, Virginia (USA). Died June 23, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. McReynolds was an innovator of the bluegrass music due to his crosspicking and split-string style. In 1947, he formed the bluegrass band Jim And Jesse together with his brother [a1288831]. In 2019, he received an honorary Doctor Of Fine Arts from Glenville State College, Glenville, WV.
