Nello Manzatti

✰ 1902, Bucharest ✞ February 5, 1986, Milan, Italy Romanian composer, singer, writer and journalist. Was notable for light music compositions and affiliation with the Iron Guard (Garda de Fier) during WWII, which he dedicated military repertoire. His literary writings are very little known. For his fascist legionnaire beliefs, Mânzatu was arrested in Bucharest in 1938 and closed in camp at Miercurea Ciuc. After installing communism in România, left the country, settling first in Argentina, then in Germany, France and Italy.
