Billy Bond (2)
Italian-born Argentine singer, producer and businessman (b. 1944 in La Spezia, Liguria). Bond began his musical career with Los Bobby Cats, later he formed the Beat music group [a=Los Guantes Negros] along with [a=Ricardo Lew] and [a=Willy Verdaguer]. He later started his solo career under the alias Billy Bond "El Rebelde". He performed for [l=Music Hall] as a session guitarist, where he'd go on to release most of his records. Later became the owner of multiple bars and music clubs, most famously the Jazz club La Cueva de Passarotus, which evolved to become meeting places for artists, live and session rock perfomers. From there Bond would meet many future members of [a=La Pesada (2)] and pioneers of the local Hard Rock scene. In the early 70s Bond funds the collective [a=Billy Bond Y La Pesada Del Rock And Roll] from La Cueva stock and meets producer [a=Jorge Álvarez], who encourages him to start a production career that included La Pesada's albums, [a=Sui Generis (4)]'s Vida, [a=Raul Porchetto]'s Cristo Rock among others. A terrorist bombing on his club prompts him to emigrate to Brazil on late '74. There, he produced for artists like [a=Ney Matogrosso] and [a=Serú Girán] and recorded with [a=Joelho De Porco] and solo before retiring. During 2018, he reconnected with argentinian musicians and recorded new music.
