Ζωζώ Σαπουντζάκη

Zozo Sapountzaki is a Greek entertainer, actress and singer, born on 27 May 1933 in Thessaloniki. She started her theatrical career, at 7 years old along with her sister, Vaso. Years later, Vaso married and left their duo. Her mother, was actually her manager, who negotiated her contracts and salary. In the '50s, she moved to Athens to continue her career, but preferred to perform at music venues and stopped from theatre. Because of her performances, luxurious clothes and her unique style, her fans nicknamed her [i]"Vasilissa Tis Nihtas" (=Queen of the Night)[/i]. She rised to fame, with performances in the USA. Also, in the '60s she appeared in some Greek films as an actress. Nowadays, she continues to entertain her fans and resides at the centre of Athens.
