Bob Stubbs

American drummer and musician born July 14, 1966 in Sacramento, California. Bob Stubbs started playing drums at age 10 because of a band called [a519796]. He got an early introduction into underground and punk rock music through attending this band’s early rehearsals and concerts. As the early 1980s California music scene picked up, Stubbs began playing drums with a lot of known local Sacramento, Northern California and Southern California bands at that time such as The Vacant, Circle Kross, The Authorities, True West and Social Distortion to name a few. As the earlier 1980s punk music scene was closing, around 1986, Stubbs was already ahead of the new music scene by forming and co-forming bands like [a5070900] that later toured with [a255060], and opened for [a124535] and [a125246]. Stubbs later formed the band Skullduggery after Race Train Schizo ended. As 1989 rolled around Bob took his band Skullduggery and reformed it in Las Vegas, NV with an all new line-up of musicians. Skullduggery played smaller venues and shows locally but did not record any songs or release any albums. In 1989 Stubbs decided to move on to Columbus, Ohio and then later to Detroit, MI to join The Flyin' Saucers, a local rockabilly band with long ties to the local Detroit and Columbus underground music scenes. In 1993 Stubbs found a new band in Tempe Arizona's The Voice. 1994 and after The Voice came the Glass Heroes. Around 1995 Stubbs was in Las Vegas again, and this time playing drums with his cousin Jesse Amoroso in a band called Cyanide Blues. In 1996 Stubbs left that band to form Benny & the Goons, a horror surf music band in Las Vegas. Benny & the Goons broke up in 1997 because of a lack of finding a bassist to replace their own who had chosen to return to college. In September of 1997 Stubbs returned to Sacramento and soon formed a new band called [a2122830] with some fellow surf music enthusiasts. Stubbs formed another infamous band while playing drums in the Hypnotic IV called The Inertians. Stubbs moved from Sacramento back to Phoenix in 2000 to rejoin The Glass Heroes. As of November 2011, Stubbs is currently recording, performing and touring with Arizona rockabilly trio [a2993071].
