American jazz clarinetist, saxophonist, singer and composer. Born : April 06, 1902 in Danville, Illinois. Died : June 08, 1999 in Santa Monica, California. James played with "The Novelty Syncopators", "Roy Schoenbeck's Orchestra", "Seattle Harmony Kings", Frankie Trumbauer, Ted Weems, Jimmy McPartland, "The Wolverines", Eddie Miller, Benny Goodman, Kay Kyser, Red Nichols, Pee Wee Hunt, Pete Dailey, among others. Nickname : "Rosy".
