Shinichi Mori

Shinichi Mori (森 進一, Mori Shinichi). Japanese singer, composer, and social welfare activist. Born in Yamanashi Prefecture on November 18, 1947. Married the actress [a=Reiko Ohara] (大原麗子) in 1980, divorced in 1984. Married the singer Masako Mori ([a=森昌子]) in 1986, divorced in 2005. His voice is characterized by a husky voice with a unique vibrato. He is often described as an enka singer, but Mori himself rejects the label, declaring instead that he is a singer of popular songs (流行歌歌手). He could be described as a moody kayō singer with an enka-style kobushi vibrato.
