Cepillin

February 7, 1946 (Monterrey, Nuevo León) — March 8, 2021 (Naucalpan, State of Mexico). Known as "Cepillín" or "Payasito De La Tele", was a Mexican clown, television presenter and singer. Ricardo studied dentistry in the late sixties and began to paint his face so that children would not be afraid of him when he fixed their teeth, hence the name "Cepillín" ("tiny brush"). At his university, dental hygiene campaigns aimed at children were carried out, in which he participated, and where he was invited by architect Héctor Benavides to hold a TV show that would be broadcasted from Monday to Friday. The show was so successful that it was extended to Saturdays and Sundays, and remained on the air for six years: from February 27, 1971 to January 3, 1977. González then decided to try his luck in Mexico City. He got the Televisa company to give him a daily broadcast program, called "El Show De Cepillín". This program was educational and comedic with guest artists, including some internationals. This show lasted 3 years (from 1977 to 1980) and was broadcasted also in 18 Latin American countries, with considerable success. Several recordings emerged from the show, such as "La Feria De Cepillín", "Tomás", "En Un Bosque De La China" and "La Gallina Co-co-ua", among others. For these recordings he obtained eleven Gold Records, with sales of more than a million copies. From his TV shows and plays, some personalities emerged who would later become international celebrities such as the singer [a318904] and the actress [a518337].
