Annegret Mayer-Lindenberg

Annegret Mayer-Lindenberg (b. 1978) is a German viola/viola d'amore player, one of the founding members of [a=Ensemble Garage]. She grew up in Hamburg and began playing violin at the age of seven, but soon switched to viola. From 2003 to 2009, Annegret went to Fontys Conservatorium Tilburg, where she studied with [a=Gisella Bergman] and [a=Garth Knox] and earned both bachelor's and master's degrees. Mayer-Lindenberg completed her training at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. She also attended master classes with [a=Nobuko Imai], [a=Ervin Schiffer], [a=Barbara Maurer], and [a=Dimitrios Polisoidis]. In parallel to the music education, Annegret mastered a violin maker's profession, working for several renowned masters in the Netherlands and eventually opening her workshop.
