Walter Iooss

American jazz bassist. Father of photographer [a4239916]. Died 15 November 1987 aged 73 in Riverhead, Long Island. Mr. Iooss performed with Benny Goodman, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday and other well-known jazz musicians and swing bands during the 1940's and 50's. He later played with the now-defunct WNEW radio band and the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, and was active as a studio musician in New York for many years.
