Uli Trepte

Ulrich "Uli" Trepte was a German bass player born 27 September 1941 in Konstanz, Germany, and died 21 May 2009, in Berlin. He started his musical career 1966 as bass player and founding member of both the [a737628] (free-jazz) and the free-rock trio [a201941]. Around that time he also played with jazz musicians like [a167055], [a177049], [a59287], [a260727] and [a136179]. He would later record with other, pioneering Krautrock / progressive rock bands like [a12636], [a26950], and [a2029882], and also led his own group [a553976] between 1975 and 1984. From 1985 onwards he lived and worked as a multimedia artist in Berlin.
