Sal Pace

American saxophonist and clarinetist, born August 10, 1910 in White Plains, N.Y. Played traditional jazz with Crescent City Five in New York 1924-1928, during the 1930s in [a=Joe Haymes]'s band, then with [a=Al Donahue] 1940, [a=Bunny Berigan] 1941 and [a=Charlie Spivak] 1942-1945. He turned to traditional jazz again with the Dixieland revival, playing with [a=Phil Napoleon] in 1949, with [a=Jimmy McPartland] a.o. 1951-1953, then recorded three albums with [a=Pee Wee Erwin] in the mid-1950s.
