American jazz (rhythm and blues, hard bop, jazz-funk, soul jazz) alto (and other) saxophonist, pianist, arranger, songwriter and vocalist. Born 21 December 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA Died 29 January 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA Hank Crawford was member of [a=Ray Charles]'s band from 1958-1963. Frequent collaborators in Ray Charles albums were [a=David "Fathead" Newman] and [a=Dr. John]. He played with [a=Phineas Newborn Jr.], [a=Booker Little], [a=George Coleman] and others.
