Retribution (4)

Serbian death metal band from Smederevo, formed in 2001. (from official label press kit) The band Retribution was founded by Ivan Kostic with a couple of his friends in the middle of 2001. The genre towards which the band moved at the time was a melodic Swedish death metal with complex arrangements. After the some line-up changes Retribution turned to a new sound enriched with brutal, fast and dynamic riffs clearly inspired by death metal bands from Florida. At the end of the 2001, Ivan Kostic started working on the concretization of ideas and the arrangements and in the middle of 2002. the band was joined by the drummer Damir Adzic, who has already proved himself in his previous work with other bands (Psychoparadox, Alogia, Rapid Force, Draconic), and bassist Ivan Vasic (Alogia). In already clarified style of Florida’s old-school death metal, the band had enough songs for the debut album (named “Fake Servant”) and started with rehearsals. At the beginning of the 2003, the drums were recorded in studio “Cesnjak” in Kragujevac. The rest of the instruments were recorded in the home studio of Ivan Kostic. At that time Dušan Supica (Psychoparadox, Mindcrime) joined the band as lead vocalist. The post-production was done at “Paradox” studio in Smederevo. "Fake Servant" also featured well-known Serbian metal guitarists - Kosta Bogdanovic (Rapid Force), Miroslav & Srdjan Brankovic (Alogia, Psychoparadox), as a guest stars. This album is a real tribute to death metal of 90s - don't miss it! In October 2005 first video (for song "The Value Of Suffering") was finished, and band was finally ready for a record deal. In March 2006 "Fake Servant" (with bonus video & multimedia) was released by oldest Serbian metal label - the mighty Rock Express Records.
