Carlos Manuel, el Zafiro, the blue diamond, is born in San Carlos, Santo Domingo. In 1975 he receives an offer from the merenguero Bonny Cepeda, to participate in his orchestra once he heard him sing, however El Sapphire did not feel safe singing in a merengue band, since he always visualized himself as balladists or bolero singer, but he accepted the offer and had a very good result. His powerful voice was quickly recognized and accepted, in a short time he put together his own orchestra and the success he had was overwhelming. Carlos Manuel popularized the songs, The Love Singer, Absent Dominicans, I don't know what to do, The check among others that became great hits. Fame and the cares of it, led him to a depression he could not handle, clinging to drugs, who soon becomes addicted to it, which begins with affecting his career and personal life. After receiving the support of artists and figures such as Freddy Beras Goico, Fernando Villalona, ​​Yaqui Núñez del Risco, among others he returns to the country in search of treatment to abandon his addiction problem. After having made several attempts to stop the addiction, in the end he manages to recover, and continue with a musical legacy. In 2012 he recorded several songs and a video, he was well received by the public.
