Annie Kavanagh

British vocalist, based in Australia. London born Annie Kavanagh’s (now Annie Neil) career began in Australia after her parents migrated from the UK. She appeared in the Australian cast of 'Hair', with whom she toured for the next two and a half years. She moved back to London and appeared in 'Jesus Christ Superstar', while undertaking session work for several acts, including: [a160906], [a266348], [a179207], and [a106909]. In 1974, she was recruited into [a=Fancy (3)], a band who were experiencing a degree of success in the United States and wished to tour over there. They toured, and produced several albums over the next 2 years, but on the demise of the act she returned to session work. In the early 1980s she moved back to Australia where she pursued much the same line of employment, supporting acts such as [a12596], [a51039], [a113673], and [a3474]. Just after the turn of the millennium, she began a career as a voice coach at Western Australian Academy for Performing Arts, specialising in contemporary voice and jazz. She also, peripatetically, provides vocal coaching at St. Hilda’s School for Girls, and on Voice Kids 2014.
