Martha Wash
American vocalist, born in San Francisco, California on December 28, 1953. She began her career as a backing vocalist for [a16794], after which she formed part of [a=Two Tons O' Fun] which was renamed [a80134] in 1982. In 1989, Wash was asked by Italian act [a=Black Box] record and demo their songs. Black Box retained Wash's uncredited vocals on their debut album [i]Dreamland[/i] (1990). Wash sued and won her case. In the same year, [a=C + C Music Factory] released "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" which used uncredited vocal parts that Wash had recorded. Wash successfully sued the group for sleeve credits in 1991.
