Władysław Kwaśnicki

Jazz saxophonist and clarinetist; composer, arranger. In the years 1973-1975 he was a member of the jazz band Jumbo Jazz Band. In 1976 he took part in creating the jazz-fusion group [a=Crash (18)] in which he was a saxophonist. He performed with the aforementioned ensemble, using a temporary name Kwaśnicki / Mazur Quartet at the Jazz Nad Odrą festival (1977; individual prize was awarded to pianist [a=Juliusz Mazur], and the group with its full line-up, under the proper name, recorded the song "Akalei", published in the Opole radio station on the PolJazz album titled "Jazz Nad Odrą '77 (Laureates)") and the first team award at the San Sebastian festival in Spain. He has performed in Poland and abroad, among others in: Germany, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Austria, France, Spain, Switzerland, USSR, Czechoslovakia and Hungary. With Crash he recorded three albums, two singles and several recording sessions for Polish Radio. He worked with the band until its dissolution in 1985, and took part in its reactivation in 2017. In addition, he was a co-founder, arranger and multi-instrumentalist of the Eliezer Mizrachi band. He is currently working with the "Capitol" Musical Theater in Wrocław, he is also a member of the traditional swing group [a=Sami Swoi] and leader of his own band, Władysław Kwaśnicki Quartet. He also takes part in many other music projects.
