DMG

DMG (which stands for DetriMental Ganxta) got his start in St. Paul, Minnesota recording underground hip-hop tapes in the early 1990's. One night after a rap concert, DMG followed rapper [a=Scarface (3)] to his hotel room where he played for him one of his tapes. The impressed Scarface took a liking to DMG's unique style and landed him a deal with [l=Rap-A-Lot Records] where the Minnesota-based artist released the underground classic [r=1148409] in 1993. Several years later DMG was invited to become a part of Scarface's spin off project [a=Facemob], a hip-hop collective consisting of several rappers from different regions. DMG continued recording on collaboration hip-hop projects for Rap-A-Lot into the late 1990's and early 2000's, including a second solo release titled "Black Roulette" in 2003. He is known to many hip-hop critics for his overtly violent lyrics and having a sound and flow similar to his protégé Scarface.
