Dani Siciliano

British-American singer, songwriter, and artist. Prior to making a name for herself as [a=Matthew Herbert]'s key collaborator, vocalist/producer [a=Dani Siciliano] played in jazz combos and spun soul, funk, and jazz records in San Francisco clubs. A meeting with Herbert resulted in the two working together and eventually they wed. It's Siciliano's lilting voice that graces the likes of Herbert's "[m=46906]" (1997) [from album "[m=46928]" (1998)], along with "[m=46942]" (2000) and "[m=46958]" (2000) [both from album "[m=46964]" (2001)] – three of the richest, danceable avant-pop singles of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Other outside collaborations with [a=Brooks] and fellow Herbert accomplice [a=Phil Parnell] were sprinkled throughout the early 2000s. A little later in the decade, she released a pair of solo albums for the German [l=Studio !K7] label. "[m=47057]" (2004) and "[m=172270]" (2006) both involved Herbert, but the albums were definitely her shows, and she was also featured throughout her partner's "[m=47022]" (2006). For several years, new Siciliano recordings were scarce, but she was featured on [a=DJ Koze] "[m=536425]" (2013) and later joined the Paris-based label [l6339], where she released her predominantly self-produced third solo album, "[m=1033877]" (2016). Previously married to [a=Matthew Herbert].
