Warren "Donell" Hickman

Warren Donell Hickman was born in Little Rock, Ark., and raised in Shreveport, La., where he graduated from high school. He attended Grambling University in Louisiana and Wiley College in Marshall, Tex. He became a member of First Union Baptist Church of San Francisco in 1965 where, soon after, he became pianist and director of the male and gospel choirs and later helped organize. First Union's mass choir, which sang for the church's communion and special occasions. As director of the San Francisco Inspirational Choir he recorded at least four albums and performed across the United States and abroad.
