Stock, Aitken & Waterman

Prolific British pop production and songwriting team, formed 1984, best known for their HI-NRG mid 80's club mixes and 'manufactured' pop at the end of the 1980s. Arguably the most successful in UK chart history. Matt Aitken left in 1991 and [a=Pete Waterman] continued with [l=PWL] and its imprints from 1993 alone when [a=Mike Stock] left. At their peak, they were knocking their own productions off the UK #1 singles chart and market share was almost 30% in 1989. They were also responsible for the UK's best selling singles artists of both 1987 ([a=Rick Astley]) and 1989 ([a=Jason Donovan]) and over 400 single recordings. Other best known of their artists include [a=Kylie Minogue], [a=Mel & Kim] and [a=Bananarama]. They achieved their first #1 single production with [a=Dead Or Alive] ([m=76420], March 1985 - released 1984).
