Mike Reed's People, Places & Things

Mike Reed's People, Places & Things is a jazz quartet from Chicago, lead by drummer Mike Read and accompanied by saxophonists Tim Haldeman and Greg Ward and by bassist Jason Roebke. The group was originally conceived as on homage to Chicago's blues, jazz and improvised music scene, with the quartet first three albums, "[r=1714931]", "[r=2621265]" and "[r=2623017]" focusing on the music composed in the early and late 50's, the group's fourth album "[r=3656025]" marked a departure from that era but still remained focused on Chicago, while in "[r=9167502]" the group fifth record the focus moved to a different city, Amsterdam, and it featured several guest musicians from the Netherlands, and on their sixth album "[r=7678571]" they no longer followed a theme.
