Felix Kok

Felix Kok (born 1 August 1924, Brakpan, South Africa - died 11 August 2010) was a South African-born British violinist and orchestra leader. He graduated from [l527847]. After graduating, he joined the [b]Blech Quartet[/b]. In 1947, with his brother the cellist [a=Alexander Kok], and pianist [a=Daphne Ibbott], he formed the [b]Beaufort Trio[/b]. He then joined the [a=Philharmonia Orchestra]. From 1959 he was leader of the [a835739]. He was the leader of the [a490279] from 1965 until his retirement in 1988. Father of conductor [a726168].
