Ruby Dee And The Snakehandlers

American rockabilly band, originally formed in the Seattle, Washington area. The band moved to Austin, Texas and is now based out of New York. The four-piece combo — led by vocalist/songwriter [a=Ruby Dee Philippa] and guitarist [a=Jorge Harada], and supported by Rick Watson on doghouse bass and Michael Bahan on drums, with frequent guest artists onstage and in the studio — plays an Americana that encompasses Northwest alt-country, Texas honky-tonk, Bakersfield twang, Memphis rockabilly, Western swing and rock ’n’ roll.
