Biogenesis

Behold three prominent producers united in the creation of magical beats & melodies: Chris Havens, Marc Smith and Jason Short. These distinguished artists came together for the first time in the spring of 1999 while in Jacksonville, FL. and since then have combining their intense sense of melody and structure with their love of driving house rhythms to forge a new Sound. Together they have arranged three original songs for Xplosion Records in Orlando: "Life is a Form of Matter", "Bohdi's Dream", and "Echo of Silence", and two original songs for Nepol Records in St. Louis: "Thought of the Future" and "Elusive Delusion". The first two songs on Xplosion Records are remixed by Ariel Baund (resident DJ @ Shadow Lounge). Chris Havens: Born in Nashville, this producer/remixer began his musical career with a great appreciation for Jazz. From a very young age he began playing the guitar, percussion, and keyboard, and by with the influence of Miles Davis and John Coltraine, he then knew what his mission in life was. After attending the University of North Florida for Drum-set major and jazz studies, he decided to commence the production of electronic music along with Marc Smith, old-time friend. The trio was finally completed in mid-2000, when they hired Jason Short to DJ for a concert at their school. They then realized that all three where meant to work together. His musical style is compared to that of Danny Tennaglia and DJ Garth, funky house. Chris is also responsible for the Foundation & Funk of Biogenesis's sound. Marc Smith: Prone to write insane Harmonies, this producer/remixer has always been involved with music since a young age. It all began in his hometown Willingboro, New Jersey when he attending a B.B. King concert and the Blues legend himself brought him on stage, shook his hand, and gave him his guitar pic. This was the turning point in his life and was the event that made him pursue a musical career. After uniting with the other two members of Biogenesis, he then began molding his form of music production. Being responsible for the Melodies, Marc approaches his musical creation by his influences of Deep House and Techy/Progressive rhythms. Jason Short(a.k.a. Sattva): This producer, remixer, and DJ was born in Long Beach, California, where he first planted his roots in the music industry while experimenting with percussion and a guitar. After experiencing the ecstatic dance scene in San Francisco, he then pursued to become a DJ in 1996 and soon after began producing his own tracks. He then after began performing at local clubs around California and after moving to Jacksonville, became a regular at clubs in North Florida like Evolution, 3D, and Imperial Lounge. His persistent practice on the turntables paid off when he was asked to make a last minute appearance at Harmegeddon 2000 in Santa Cruz, CA., and at The Millennium Party in Jacksonville, opening for big acts like Confucious, in front of an audience of over 2000. His drive for perfection brought him to Orlando, FL., where he attended one of the top audio schools in the country, Full Sail. Here he performed at local clubs like Barbarella and Havens Lounge. While acquiring the knowledge that would unit all his strengths together, Jason joined forces with Xplosion Records. On the dance-floor he is known for his long eclectic sets, building the energy through the roof, while in the studio he is drawn by tech-house and deep progressive trance. To Biogenesis, he is known to bestow those awesome Beats & Weird Sound Designs.
