Larry Nager

Larry Nager is an award-winning author ([i]Memphis Beat: The Lives and Times of America’s Musical Crossroads[/i]), music historian with the Recording Academy, documentary filmmaker ([i]Bill Monroe: Father of Bluegrass Music[/i]), educator and musician based in Kaua'i, Hawaii, USA since 2018. Prior to that, Nager lived for several years in Nashville, TN and in Ohio. As well as his books, Nager has been published in [u]Rolling Stone[/u], [u]Bluegrass Unlimited[/u], [u]Blues Revue[/u], [u]Musician[/u] and others and is a former music editor for newspapers [u]Memphis Commercial Appeal[/u], [u]Cincinnati Enquirer[/u] and the [u]Cincinnati Post[/u]. As a musician, he is best known for roots music on labels including [l=Folkways], [l=Rounder], and [l=Vetco]. Besides listed "In Groups", Nager was also part of Ohio bands [b]Red Mountain String Band[/b] and [b]Allen Lilly Band[/b].
