Henrik Engqvist

Henrik Engqvist is educated at the Musicians Institute California, Los Angeles Music Academy and taught by the very best in the drum world, Dave Weckl, Jeff Porcaro, Alex Acuna, Steve Gadd etc. In addition to teaching at the Rhythmic Center, Henrik teaches the art of drumming and band teaching at Helsingør Music School and Copenhagen MGK. Henrik has released several albums in his own name and is a regular member of many constellations both at home and abroad, including "The Hornets" with Jimmy Haslip, Russel Ferrante and Jeff Richman. Henrik has played and toured with names like: Robben Ford, Jeff Richman, Jimmy Haslip, Alex Acuna, Oz Noy, Finn Ziegler, Eliel Lazo, David Garfield, Poul Reimann. Henrik is an executive on a professional level and tours the world with different constellations. In 2018, Henrik received an American music award in the TV show “Studio Jams” as “MOST INSPIRING DRUMMER”. The show has over 126 million viewers worldwide. In addition to this fine recognition, Henrik has also received a Jazz Prize and a County Music Prize.
